This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

Western Springs is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Western Springs follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

We checked out Chicago Dumpling tonight, and wowβit completely blew us away! From the very first bite to the last, every single dish was absolute perfection. The dumplings were amazing, packed with flavor and cooked just right. But the bao buns? Absolutely out of this world. Pillowy, tender, and insanely delicious. We also ordered the shrimp tempura, which was light, fresh, and terrific, along with the crab rangoonβcrispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and genuinely incredible. Itβs rare to order a full spread and have every single item hit a home run, but this spot nailed it. Incredible food, great flavor, and a fantastic experience overall. We will definitely be back!

I really wanted to give this place 5 stars because the food was genuinely delicious. We ordered five itemsβsoup dumplings, steamed dumplings, scallion pancakes, and two milk tea drinks. Everything we ate was fresh, flavorful, and I would absolutely come back for the food. Unfortunately, the service was a huge disappointment. We finished our entire meal before we received our drinks, and ended up waiting nearly 2 hours for our boba. I completely understand that restaurants get busy, and Iβm usually very patient, but a two-hour wait for drinks is excessive. It seemed like the restaurant was severely understaffed, with the same employee making boba while also working the front counter. Thatβs not fair to the staff or the customers. Management should make sure there is enough coverage during peak hours so employees arenβt stretched so thin. I hope this was just an off day because the food really was excellent. If the staffing and wait times improve, Iβd gladly come back and update my review.

We stopped in for lunch. The dumplings were amazing. The stir fry noodles were delicious. The portions are very generous. (Note: the less spicy was still pretty spicy).

Very cute place! Wonderful staff! Excellent food! π the Agedashi Tofu was fantastic and a MUST HAVE - easily 12/10! We tried the Beef Ramen and the Veggie Ramen which were both delicious! The Chicken Soup Dumpling with vinegar was my favorite bite of the day! Their fresh fruit teas were very refreshing! 1000% we will be back again soon! Thank you for such a wonderful experience!
